Introduction

Thank you for visiting my portfolio. My name is Caroline Strickland, and I am a Chicago transplant from Atlanta, Georgia. I attended the University of Georgia from 2013-2017 and received a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing. While a student, I also extensively studied German language and culture and carry an intermediate proficiency in speaking, reading and writing. Additionally, I have received a certificate of completion from Northwestern University for my achievements in their full-stack development bootcamp and am fully versed in languages and programs for front and back-end development. I am a committed learner and am naturally inquisitive. I love a challenge and competition and can excel on a team and also upon my own self-determination.

In my personal time, I enjoy reading. I am particularly drawn to the works of the Romantic Period but I also enjoy historical fiction, fantasy, sci-fi and thrillers. I am an avid solitaire player and doodler. I also routinely rearrange my furniture. My 4-year-old rescue pup, Tybee, and I spend a lot of time together exploring the sights and smells of Chicago. We have been together since I adopted her the summer before beginning my senior year of college in 2016. We go on many hikes and trips together. I have a keen interest in the humanities and current events and try to be very engaged in the political process.
